Privacy and cookies
Your pool history is private by default.
This notice explains how CFBPools handles account, pool, security, and advertising-related data.
Current advertising status
Advertising and Google ad cookies are off.
CFBPools does not currently load Google AdSense, request an ad, or set an advertising cookie. Advertising may remain off even when pools are otherwise available.
If advertising is enabled later, CFBPools will use only restrained contextual or non-personalized placements on the public home page and publicly crawlable standings. Google and participating vendors may then use cookies or local storage for ad delivery, frequency limits, aggregated reporting, security, and fraud prevention. They may receive network and device information such as an IP address, browser details, and coarse location. A consent and privacy-choice control will be published before any ad request is allowed.
Google explains its advertising data practices in its advertising privacy notice. Google also provides advertising settings.
Data we use
Only what is needed to operate, protect, and improve pools.
- Account identity: email address, display name, sign-in provider, and age self-attestation time.
- Optional profile details: a clickable Instagram profile and short bio. Sharing with your pool-mates is on by default and easy to turn off on your Account page. Only active players who share a pool with you can ever see these details — never the public.
- Pool activity: memberships, settings, picks, scoring history, reports, and recorded organizer actions.
- Service security: session and verification records, network information used for authentication and abuse prevention, and short-lived draft connection data.
- Product activity: limited records of events such as pool creation, joining, and draft completion. CFBPools does not use session replay or precise location.
Essential cookies keep signed-in accounts secure. Browser storage supports private invite access, keeps a guest seat recoverable on that device, and helps live drafts reconnect reliably. It is not used for advertising profiles.
Emails we send
Sign-in links, one weekly outlook, and nothing you didn’t ask for.
- Sign-in emails: a one-time link when you ask to sign in. These are required to use an email account and cannot be turned off.
- Weekly pool outlook: one consolidated summary after results settle, covering every active pool that keeps outlooks on. It includes current standings and modeled estimates such as expected points and projected finish. Every outlook carries a one-click unsubscribe link, organizers can turn outlooks off for a whole pool, and you can switch them off any time from your Account page.
- Product news: only if you opt in on your Account page. It is off by default.
Unsubscribing from a weekly outlook stops all optional CFBPools email until you re-enable it from your Account page. Your email address is never shown to other players.
Browser notifications
Optional, weekly, and off unless you turn them on.
If you enable notifications, CFBPools stores the push address and encryption keys your browser generates — nothing else — and sends at most one consolidated notification per account each week, when the latest outlook is ready. Turn them off any time with the Account page toggle or your browser’s notification settings; addresses that stop working are deleted automatically.
Retention and choices
Export first, then delete when you choose.
Account and pool history is retained until deletion. Your Account page shows only pools connected to your signed-in identity. Detailed product activity records expire after 90 days; anonymous totals may be kept indefinitely. Deletion removes identity and notification data and removes optional profile details, then anonymizes historical membership while preserving picks, change history, and scoring integrity.
Use the export and deletion controls in Help and privacy. If a future advertising consent control does not respond, contact privacy@collegefootballpools.com.
Age and contact
CFBPools is for people age 13 and older.
CFBPools does not knowingly permit children under 13 to create or join pools. Contact support if you believe an under-13 account was created so it can be reviewed and removed. Advertising, if enabled, will use conservative teen-restricted, non-personalized treatment and will exclude gambling and sportsbook categories.
